certain music records is a new label which is trying to transmit the true spirit of house music house music for fans to be enjoyed at the dancefloor the first reference is in charge of the groove brothers, aka jef k and rhythm & soul and the collab between chicago legend tyree cooper. the original is a groovy track with sultry vocals and bass samples that drives you back to the early 2000s house sound. side b tyree made to remix preserving the spirit of the house of chicago icluyendo the classic bassline acid of the first productions of the genre. back to the origins.

north lake is a fairly established name in the leftfield techno scene and each release he puts out leaves his listeners constantly looking forward to much more. the prolific and elusive michigan-based artist has a rich repertoire of previous releases and contributions on exemplary record labels such as permanent vacation, life and death, ellum or phonica.
the four tracks on his seventh ep stand out as masterful, immersive, very intense and at times eerie pieces of lower-bpm dance music. opener *sun gun* and title-track *two headed beast* follow up on the trails of *journey to the center of the sun* or *marlborol noir*, adding further proof of his ability to constantly deliver memorable synth jams. the b-sides *caverns* and *white lodge* allow him to explore his darker side, adding even more melodic intricacy and dramatic moments to his deep, eerie trademark sound.
*two headed beast* is our collectives sixth physical release to date and the first in a longer string scheduled in 2015. *white lodge* will be available exclusively on wax.

it is no exaggeration to say that ultrastretch has accumulated an array of outstanding releases and artists since its creation in 2011. one knows that being as renown a representative of the underground music scene as sammy dee is, he can easily sign music from any established artist he would like, the so called ‘big names’, however, when we look at the past seven releases on ultrastretch, the agenda here seems to be another. what has become an apparent and admirable feature of this label/platform and of sammy dee himself is his clear support for new music from young and yet to be discovered talents. it is on that note that ultrastretch 08 brings you romanian artist crihan. hailing from a small town close to cluj, alin crihan moved to bucharest in 2009 to be more in touch with the underground scene and music in the capital as it poses more opportunities for him to grow and develop. from dj’ing in the most various clubs in his home country, his first steps into western europe as a dj came earlier last year at no less than the legendary robert johnson club alongside petre inspirescu in frankfurt. producing under his real name for the past four years, crihan’s release for ultrastretch brings two tracks, setting the listener into two very distinctive paths. the a side, * uelden* is a dance floor oriented track. the first words to come to mind are groove and rhythm, giving the track a somewhat funky feeling overall. the elements have been crafted carefully and therefore appropriately placed just where and when you need them. by simply starting the track with a bass line and shuffling hihats he slowly develops to a journey that not onlyventures further into groove and rhythm but also in mind grabbing harmonies with deep/airy sounding pads giving it a comforting sense of beauty and obscurity. the b side is called a doua dimensiune, literally translated from romanian it means the second dimension. doing justice to the title the track does generate the feeling of being in another dimension. it is a very deep affair into mind-altering soundscapes, very atmospheric and at times dark and obscure. attention to detail is apparent judging by the overlayering of elements featured in this track. a constant rolling base formed of water tapping ambient sounds give way to harmonies made up of strings and random noises on top.

while music in its definitive nature fills both space and time, creating environments in which we live and breathe, these miniature dramaturgies string together to become the screenplay to ones existence. sometimes chosen, and often times forced, these sounds influence the subconscious and designate emotions. purposely flowing fluently through a spectrum ranging from theatrical to rapturous tensions that mingle through the night. cio d or s cinematic compilation for semantica explores another side of techno, a niche home to cio where each intricate sound takes a risk for the sake of progression.

a black, very black, vinyl record which stands out compared to previous releases on limited. the sixth chapter of andrea belluzzi’s label is titled black series because its objective is to devastate the ordinary lines of techno and let loose the dark black wings which are the base of the project. on side a, mike storm and transientx4 lead us through a gradual scale of mysterious and mechanical loops capable of hypnotizing while increasing the level of pathos. this culminates the gradual build up to the third track, produced by andrea belluzzi, with a perfect balance between dark techno and ambient in a mental voyage which seems to never lose itself during the entire 7 minutes with the perfect energy for the dancefloor. the record ends with the work of ken karter which, although is strictly mental and super hypnotic, manages to offer a distinct danceable rhythm marked by low frequencies which remain slow but captivating with a wide array of sounds which grow without boring the listener.

front left represents a very special corner in a very special spot on this planet. every week the front left people gather together to celebrate techno music. techno is what brings us together and what makes us family to one another. we rejoice listening to it, produce it, talk about it, share it and mainly dance to it. it is incredible how one physical spot creates so such magic and human connection. this label brings the productions of the front left people to the world. in the first release, you will find elad magdasi, a heavy dancer and an emotional producer. his productions are wide-ranged and loaded with a true rave spirit, combining an acid-line treatment and his melodic point of view. in the last two years elad s productions turned to the techno side, and now he feels it s time to finally let his music out. gathering knowledge and figuring out his style brought him to this point. his love for raving is what keeps his mojo going and brings the inspiration to his life. joining the first release is matrixxman (charlie duff), the talented producer who s been shaking dance floor with his hit -protocol- for already 2 years and now releasing his debut album on ghostly. not surprisingly, the connection between elad and matrixxman was also formed on the front left. the first release combines a slick collection of sounds.

synthek inaugurates his own record label with a solo ep featuring 4 alienating broken cuts. ‘escape from reality’ as first track, goes down as a bleeping submarine, deep diving into underwater caves where a slow and hypnotic rhythm reverberates through ears and mind. second cut ‘alchemy’ continues the interdimensional explorations, and after long intro, it gradually detaches from the surface reaching a leaden sky. drums and claps alternates on a soundscape of constant roars, holding the track in a steady mesmerizing jingle. the b-side opens with ‘found myself’, edgy broken beat with a stronger and more club-oriented dynamism which finds its best shot in the last cut ‘chain reaction’. a ravishing synthline drives through tribalesque drums, snares and thunderclaps to close the record with a mystic vibe

sleeper cell is the new collaboration between earthen sea and lovers rock label head ital. recorded over three days and nights in a dark ny winter, * quality of life* reflects a declining america in a winter of its own. corroded dub atmospheres, haunting melodies, subdued flashes of tenderness and occasional searing noise swim together like murky oil in a puddle of grimy water on the side of the road. opening with the entrancing * initiate* , * sleeper cell* welcome the listener into their world, where menacing whispers dance and echo around synth swells and a poignant lead melody. from there, the duo journey through a crumbling and eerily spacious sound world.

continuing on from vol 1 s theme of established artists working in disguise, music first vol 2 delivers another sonic assault with this absolute rollercoaster ride of a record. the mysterious scorpio t opens the ep with neptune rising , a squelching acid-bass boomer that can simultaneously spiritually elevate and physically devastate any dancefloor. rounding off side a it s followed by scandalous arthur s acid in my mind , a lo-fi tape-hissed jacking beast of a banger that sounds like it s genuinely been brewing in a vat of highly toxic acid for at least 25 years and guaranteed to melt your mind. on the flipside comes jax dax returning from vol 1 with the low-frequency moody slo-mo electro workout fucking computer that oozes bad attitude and booty-shaking basslines in equal abundance. bringing the trip to a close is kyrenic azalee with the self-titled kyrenic azalee , an x-rated new beat tour-de-force of epic proportions that will fry minds and bodies with its relentless energy. limited edition so don t sleep on it, not that it would let you.

tasty treats, another side project of the multi-talented ronald burrell dropped this 4 track ep way back in 1993 on the cult citi label out of nyc. as expected the tracks contained within have all the facets of that magical burrell sound healthy doses of soul, sleaze, deepness, late night atmosphere and that solid, no nonsense ny/nj house attitude, for the heads, the dancers, the all nighters and the freaks! this is pure shelter/garage joy! the burrell brothers back catalog is just ridiculous in terms of releases, styles and quality control and this ep sits comfortably up there with some of their classics. an all round solid ep for all true house music lovers regardless of area code or geography! %100 legit re-issue, re-mastered and brought back for the summer 2015 flex - dont snooze!

reissue of a unknown b-side of an early belgian trance outfit release. before they made euro trance they made this heavenly balearic gem. it screamed for lauer remixes and he provided…
unless you have been sleeping it should be pretty obvious that wph head honcho red d has a weak spot for early belgian trance stuff. before trance was even known as trance that is… the early 90ies were the post new beat era in belgium and loads of producers were experimenting with new sounds to steer away from the blatantly commercial new beat chart stuff. so that is when the magic started happening.

after an 8 month long break, sylphe is back, this time changing things for the first time with a solo ep by the b side dweller, micawber. he is delivering two solid, thumping techno cuts in the well-known mystifying sylphe mood. on the a side we have * fasma*, a rolling, melancholic techno jam. sparkling rhythms meet lamenting melodies in a 10 minute trip of bubbly sub-basslines and transcendent grooves. on the usual b side micawber is delivering yenbashu. a psyched-out trip into electronics, it moves swiftly into an experimental territory of madness, full of edgy and shuffled up beats. both cuts remain true to the sound sylphe has forged, albeit taking a sharper turn and evolving naturally. we will be pressing 599 copies.

ltd 2015 repress !! fear of flyings next instalment sees the label launch a vinyl only 4 tracker with revered artist schatrax providing the previously unreleased lead track >get it right<. a booming sub bass, a few cut up disco samples and 5 1/2 minutes later you have another fine addition to mr josh brents exceedingly impressive cv. romanian duo egal 3 round off the a side with more than a nod and a wink in the direction of baby ford / thomas melchior in the minimal trippy beats of in their track >siclam<. label coowner blm gets all dubby on his tribute to daughter / dog love on the flip with northern wonder nyra getting all introspective on the deep and slightly darkly edged >casturize<.

the second loveit press comes right in time for the festival season and for dusty basements too. suolcity is a young producer from stuttgart, the spot for house business again. probably he felt it already as intern at rocker 33?, the club such as panorama bar and robert johnson. how else could you explain the b-side rush, you had to feel this dubby, gritty bassline. not hard enough - so maybe rush harder, you can have it all.

on the first side side we got the title track kings & queens, featuring carlo and the unique voice of the singer / songwriter gjaezon. trippy chords combined with whirling hi-hats give that track a special melancholic, dark and warm feeling. perel transformed the second track speakerbox straight into a club banger - jacking grooves and cut up vocals by gjae, thats how we like it. and now sit back and relax while ranko serves you his cocktail of slow-motion funk and dubby grooves in his clarapark remix. on the flip side oliver gehrmann starts with his version of speakerbox: a floating and melodic sunrise hymn, including such a rolling bassline that your feet will do all the work for you. odysea take you back to the golden age of house music, therefor the boys created a soulful remix with majestic strings that give you nothing but goose bumps.

:-crimini- is a new independent label born from the experience of some members of the mighty kitchentstudio3, based in bologna italy. the first release contains on the first side three track by nas1 duo. the young duo work at the kitchenstudio3 since 2011, where they produced a lot of good stuff, including a track featuring kyle hall (released by wild oats music), their debut ep on bosconi records, two tracks released by nick anthony simoncino s hotmix records, and many other cool works. on the other side there is a power track, spinning at 45 tmp, produced by the mysterious grienkho, appeared on pushmaster records and austerity, and kosmik, legendary record collector from south of italy.

norwegian duo trulz & robin throw down the gauntlet with the third vinyl-only statement from the cymawax label, delivering an acidic take on their patented ‘hot and crunchy techno with soul.’ the prolific pair from oslo have been a force in their country’s electronic music scene for over two decades, with massive singles for full pupp, eskimo recordings, and the cymasonic and cymawax labels to show for it. now, the agent acid ep finds trulz & robin infiltrating the secret lair of a 303 conspiracy and decoding a quartet of sonic documents full of heavy synthesized funk. the ep’s title track is a slinky introduction, featuring battling analog squelches and drum machine patterns while a disembodied vocal plays on top. “i disappear”, adding collaborator brokkoli on the voice, is a more in-your-face effort as its pulsating sequences give way to floor-thrilling breakdowns. the low end might of “magnetisk smultring” showcases trulz & robin’s experimental side, complete with a disconcerting middle passage that soon reveals gentle synth melodies over a hypnotic rhythm section. then “my body”, the release’s closing track, introduces mysterious feelings … percussive clicks and tones build steadily as dub effects, sharp washes, and ominous whispers take hold. the agent acid ep is another triumph for trulz & robin … a masterclass of covert nightclub maneuvers.

we are excited to welcome sebo k to tsuba for his first post-mobilee release with the aquamarine ep. lead cut *reach out* is trademark sebo centering around a nagging bassline and vocal hook that joins the dots between chicago house and modern tech house. *aquamarine* shows a deeper side to sebos production and for the remix we have enlisted one of the true greats, mr fingers aka larry heard. the result is a stunner, with live keys and a bassline that could only come from one of the pioneers of house music.

releasing not very often, understand has always kept things in the dark about what is going to happen next. the wait is over and the fifth instalment of the series is named ebandogue and features 3 tracks from dubtil, one of today s best producers in the bucharest underground. ruling side a is opus ebant, an epic masterpiece, driven by a groovy bassline and subtle male choirs. this heavenly atmosphere goes from trippy to driving back and forth making it perfect for a peaktime moment that won’t be forgotten. may also be used in some worship places. debandada and epilogue share side b and besides the producer himself that is almost everything they share. debandada is kind of dark and experimental but full of energy in the same time with weird whispers and evolving hats keeping everything on the move. epilogue has a more positive approach, the general uplifing feeling is spiked ocasionally with a techno resonator and some background synths, and just like that, the random delayed male vocals make it so more interesting.

ep opener *la nuit* shimmers into life over buttery synths and shifting percussion while ghostly intonations and warm resonations combine to deliver a deep and affecting cut that immediately leaves you wanting more.
for the b-side claudia teams up with fellow vocalist anders ilar to deliver *stars*, a sumptuous affair with delicate percussive arrangements and long-drawn-out synths. drumcode and ovum recordings affiliate agaric steps up for remix duty and utilizes dynamic hooksand hypnotic rhythms to dish up an infectious version of *stars*.

ive been over and over track running orders, while taking into account the limitations of vinyl. it needs to be a loud cut as anything increasing the chances of this music being played in clubs is a priority. the major development is, i d really like the a side at 45rpm, as before. as well as the extra volume, granular psychosis is an exciting prospect to be able to play at both speeds as its so fast. with this track list below, we re exceeding the time slightly for what i ve been advised is the best 45rpm quality. however, as zattrday has such a limited frequency range, that can be cut to take a very small part of the vinyl. i will talk to, about all this, and ultimately go with his advice of the best way to do this on the day. but i can say it will almost definitely happen like one of the two options below

*** repress 2015 ***!! its a get together between master rick and young kyle. and its time to turn things up a notch. kyle hits it unbelievably hard with >after fall<. have you ever tried head banging to disco music? if not, now is the time, because this track will make you do just that. there is no denying. banger! on the b-side the godson eases down a little and lifts the classic >love & happiness< a capella to work it into a hypnotic groove. build it up! the third track sees kyle and rick teaming up, where kyle provides the drums and rick delivers the groove. a futuristic piece of jazz techno, 22nd century shit, that plays with your mind and demands you to move.

matt karmil is one of the most favorite newcomer for us. after we have listened his debut track reverse peephole,we are overwhelming. we said masters at work meets ibiza, fight on a side is unique merodic raw house and kiss and make up is more uplifting but sweet techno house track. if you like the production of dj koze,you will love this release.

the fourth instalment from the jens camp comes in the form of the herman the dog ep! the a-side contains two popping tracks full of pumped up house, chunky bass and floating synth lines, whilst the flip taps into techno territory, plunging the low end into darkness and sprinkling with squelchy acid rain!

after waiting 3 long years, and finally getting the multi track session to do a b side, im proud to present the star blazers cover version of the masterpiece danger zone which was originally done my midnight express. many should be familiar with detroit producer recloose, while back in new zealand he assembled a band who called them selves star blazers (an ode to the 70s legendary japanimation series and a big hit on bostons tv38.. indeed recloose is from massachusetts) and they recorded a few cover tunes.upon hearing this i knew it was special. while most modern covers miss the mark, purely emulating and sounding like a cheap imitation, leaving me wanting to just play the original. they flip the tempo, swing and vibe, straight up owning this and making it their own.

with his last ep offering on keinemusik, &me displayed himself once again as supplier of anthems that easily reconcile style with general floor purpose. you would think, such an universal and inexhaustible tune as this very “after dark” can only be a lucky hit. but no, he’s knocking out the classic material just like that. another example? catalog number km028, his brandnew “trilogy” ep. the titletrack on a initially places a synth arpeggio behind a kick that in dryness is hardly to excel. the beat of -trilogy- is then seasoned with rimshot patterns until the saturated bassdrum comes in and paves the way to the dancefloor. &me even refines his knack for stoic grooves on this jam and once again shows his sure feeling for suitable vocal features. sabotas croon comes devoid of big gestures and still knows the ropes to appeal to the collective mentality of a clubcrowd. on the flipside, “woods” is living up to its name from the very beginning. woody percussions are thumping within an almost subtropical scenario that’s frequently pervaded by mighty synth clouds. and once again, there’s an arpeggio sneaking in that at some point is taking the lead in this strictly instrumental affair. add a break building that will educe a floor’s complete euphoric potential without going for the rather mindless escalation and there you have it: a b-side that’s actually more of an a-competitor.

mr zambons (of the very polish cut-outs fame) side label transatlantyk has made quite an impact across a handful of releases this is their debut artist album, and who better to represent the free-wheeling spirit of their ethos than fellow polish pals, ptaki.

markantonio can rightly be described as one of italys true techno titans, working tirelessly as he has since the late nineties to bring the tougher side electronic music into the light. recording for labels such as marco carolas design music, billy nastys tortured records and umeks recycled loops, markantonio has spent the last 16 years on the cutting edge of quality techno but it was with the launch of his analytic trail imprint in 2001 that he perhaps truly came into his own.

having checked our records, its been a few years since the shelves at juno were graced with some music from the studio of italian dub techno exponent fabio scalabroni, so the arrival of a new 12inch brandishing his work is cause for celebration. the rohs! records label operated by belgium-dwelling compatriot andrea porcu is who we can thank for coaxing some new cuts out of scalabroni with the roots ep suggesting he s lost none of his production verve. root a will appeal to fans of the punchier tracks from the giegling discography whilst the b side track has a real slinky vibe to the groove that really gets in your head and stays there

the untold stories returns with another double vinyl collection, this time divided into two chapters: chapter iii and chapter iv. all begins with an extended work by denis kaznacheev. then tracks by vlad caia and kaitaro complete the first record. the second record, chapter iv, begins with a warm and laid-back work by ivan lopez, followed by a distinct andrey zots remix. the final side, begins with a track both playful and eccentric by zefzeed, and the chapter is complete with an ethereal lightness from verrina & ventura. so as a collection, 3 darker moodier tracks on the black chapter iii record, and four lighter tracks on the transparent yellow record of chapter iv, make for another exciting release from the untold stories

dear wanderer, ramona is happy to present the video dead, chinaski s debut-­ep for live at robert johnson. originally hailing from the high north of germany, rostock near the rough and stormy sea, the young man with interests in 80s video-­aesthetics and vintage synthesizers is now calling offenbach his home­turf. chinaskis ep starts out with time to kill, a straight forward hypnotizing jacker directly heading to the synthesized happiness. midnight workout features a different side to the young talent sensitive placed synth harmonies packed in a vintage-­pop interlude. after a journey through more harmonious domains, night school turns the page again and picks up on those synth-waves and put ramona away from her calm drive through the midnight heat, right on the dancefloor mesmerizing analogue deep housevibes all over the place.hide society steps out of context and mixes chinaskis affection for the warmth of these marvelous synth-­sounds with trippy post-­breaking or even proto-­hiphop sounds topped off with a weird vocal sample. the title­track the video dead summons all emotional power ramona could implant into a synthesizer, the heartbeat like reduced kick-­drum and hihats floating around the track are mostly incidental or not even there for the ears. purely visual.

after previous releases on hija de colombia, el nino andres (here credited as el nino only) debuts on new vinyl label called jackie brown. jackie brown aims to release series of mini lps, providing conceptual music stories, while at the same time not neglecting the main consequence of good house music – dance groove. house music infected with funk, soul and boogie grooves – we are not inventing nothing new, we’ve been inspired by many labels that came before. el nino delivers first story on our label, and in our humble opinion shows the very best side of house music with a groove and soul. though not all tracks are lengthy and floor ready, they make a great ensemble on “no boogie nights”, while tracks like “odds against tomorrow”, “thieves in the night” and “something ain’t right” work great on their own. everything is rounded up with amazing artwork from maximilian moser.

the fourth release from palms & charms sees the return of label co-owner barnaby bruce, ruminating on the perils of fine fabric care. we ve all been there – a lengthy session on the dancefloor playing havoc with the pile of your velvet coat. faced with this dilemma, barnaby reaches for the battered volume, passed down through untold generations of his family, detailing archaic yet uncannily effective methods for extending the life of even the most exquisite textiles. as he does so, the percussive jazz-tinged boogie of sweat on velvet takes over his mind, unleashing a wave of dancefloor euphoria. not to be outdone, pete herbert (reverso 68), unveils his own masterful fabric care techniques, providing a remix that will starch your collar and shake out the creases. not the same clothes, but something brand new. freshly attired, barnaby begins to notice curious and somewhat unsettling noises coming from the next room. he gingerly opens the door, and is confronted with a seance in full swing. strangers sitting around his dining table wait with baited breath for word from the other side. but the unearthly howling of tortured spirits is quickly silenced by the devilish groove of seance fiction. as the arp makes its entrance, every soul is up and dancing. finally, barnaby bruce also provides the eminently useful go go percussion dub of sweat on velvet – rounding out a sartorially elegant ep with something for everyone, from sceptics to lost souls.

emotive tracks by two super producers who impressed cartulis day with their memorable sets. the collective invites tommy vicari jnr and anton zap once again, this time to showcase their music for the labels third release. tommy vicari jnr brings us a deeply playful side a track, well suited for those special after hours. anton zap names his track after crucifix lane, cartulis home for more than 5 years before it was forced to close earlier this year. he recreates that stomping ground atmosphere with this b track, sure to keep a dance floor pulsating during the peak of the night.
